About PitbullHero

Our Story

The beginning

PitbullHero was started in 2017 (with the launch of Pitbullinfo.org) after the founder, a cybersecurity professional and a huge fan of all dogs, moved to Colorado and was denied from buying a home in Denver because of his dog's appearance / breed due to the city's ban against dogs labeled as "pitbulls" (aka BSL or breed-specific legislation). As a result of Denver's ban (that voters overturned by a wide majority in 2020) and to combat the inequity and inherently flawed foundation of BSL, which erroneously judges entire populations of dogs based only on their appearance, he took action by:

  • Buying a home in a town near Denver that doesn’t arbitrarily discriminate against its citizens and taxpayers because of the dog that they own;
  • Researching the constitutionality of BSL's impact to property rights, due process, housing / real-estate laws, and to other constitutional rights / laws;
  • Personally funding and starting PitbullHero to combat the specific problem of BSL and the larger issue of discrimination against, and misinformation about, dogs labeled as "pitbulls".

Since 2017

  • In 2022, we launched our PitbullHero brand while maintaining Pitbullinfo.org (our flagship site packed with facts and information about pitbulls, scientific studies, and dog bite-related data and statistics).
  • Our social media platforms have grown to over 200K followers and our websites log over 1M visits each year.
  • Over 100 cities and towns in the U.S. have repealed their discriminatory BSL and dog bans thanks to amazing citizens and voters all around the country that are standing up against BSL and discrimination against dogs labeled as "pitbulls".
